Location
When Pigs Fly - 828 Events is located in the North Fork Valley of the Appalachian Mountains. Our site is 12 miles east of downtown Asheville with convenient access off Interstate 40. We are just minutes away from the picturesque town of Black Mountain which offers ample lodging choices and abundant eateries.
Our land was once a homestead and as a Special Events Venue has the perfect flat and grassy, tree shaded area for gathering together. A 1940’s wood barn testifies to the salt-of-the-earth spirit of the people who have tended this land. The property is sheltered by a towering “Grandmother” Tulip Poplar tree as well as Maples and Sycamores - all which decorate the space with nature’s verdant ever-changing colors. The 4 acre lake - referred to as When Pigs Fly Pond - is complete with a scenic view of Craggy Mountain. This is a special place for making special memories!
The Gathering Space
Host your Special Event by the shores of When Pigs Fly Pond - nestled alongside a 1940’s wooden barn, and under a large party tent.
Enjoy the festive magic of our canopy of trees decorated with twinkling lights.
Utilize our Banquet and Dining area with space to set up tables & chairs for up to 100 people.
Celebrate in style with a small dance floor and stage for your band - and for making toasts!
Take advantage of access to a power source and have a DJ play tunes.

Use the weathered siding of our 1940’s barn as your wedding backdrop - sheltered by trees and carpeted in grass for a perfectly rustic atmosphere.
Make your wedding promises under open sky in our gently rolling field of green grass bordered by valley meadows.
Add a flower-adorned arbor to your ceremony site with farm fresh florals from our next door neighbor BLOOM WNC.
Choose a raised platform (10 feet square) for your ceremony or add a romantic wrought iron bench to the scene.

Our Covered Barn, next to the Gathering Space, allows for your caterer to easily set up and conduct preparations on site.
